Batman 3

The storyline is getting more suspenseful as batman starts digging at the origins of the court of owls. Batman kicks some asses in order to get answers and no gangster goes unpunished. It seems like the person behind the owl mask is untraceable and is like a spook story to scare the children. As the story progresses batman figures out that this owl villain could be hiding all along in the most safest of places, in fact in the buildings built by the Wayne families.

A hunch leads batman to the thirteen floors of buildings built by Wayne's predecessor and the owl's hide out is indeed there. The court of owls have been building the secret hide out at the thirteen floor for generations and unknown to the outside world until now. Before you know it the story ends on a cliffhanger as batman trips a wire while investigating a hide out and the whole place blew up.

More interestingly is who is this owl person that managed to outwit batman in every step and too eager to finish off Bruce Wayne.

Fear Itself 7

This main event ends in this issue and it ends with a bang. With the stakes are high on both sides, the serpent wants to conquer the world and the avengers wants to prevent the razing of the world by Odin. Ironman and Thor arrived just in time with the enchanted weapons for the avengers just as serpent is unleashing its final attack. All the avengers wields a new weapon and Wolverine has the overall nicest looking weapon and costume. Too bad not many pages are dedicated to his awesome new outfit.


The main boss fight is between Thor and the serpent and countless of page is dedicated to this as both battled to the death. The rest of avengers takes on the other minions and the fight is more balanced now. Captain America even managed to pickup Thor's Mjolnir after it was disposesed during Thor's battle with serpent. Predictably it all comes down to Thor delivering the fatal blow to the serpent by stabbing it on the head just as Odin's armies is marching to earth to raze it. It takes so much from Thor that he died from it just as the prophecy predicted. Meanwhile the serpent's minions including Skadi/Sin lost their powerful hammers and returned to their normal self. In the aftermath, the avengers starts rebuilding and Thor's body is returned back to Asgard for final rites. But it all doesn't end there as the repercussion from the war spins of a few storylines involving Sin and Hulk. There's plenty enough of battle action here but the story is predictable enough though the art work more than make up for it.

Amazing Spiderman 672

The final issue of spider island story arc has the typical final fight with the big boss. Almost all the superheroes in the marvel universe is involved in the fight from the avengers to the x-men to the fantastic four. Firstly Captain America and venom faced off against the queen in her human form. That doesn't turns out good as the queen transformed into a giant mutated spider who Cap described as an omega threat level. The queen moved into the city and wreck havoc all around and all the superheroes is having a hard time trying to contain it.


Meanwhile Parker and his clone Kaine does a double team up against the queen. The first time face off does not do anything to stop the queen. Parker's quick thinking led him to use a weapon of Doc Ock and the weapon is successful in turning all the people of new york mutated into spiders back into their own selves. The spider queen powers diminished significantly after that and that gives the opening Kaine needed to deliver the fatal blow to the queen. The queen was finally defeated but not before leaving a trail of destruction in the city. Good outcome is that Parker gets the chance to be close with Mary Jane again in the final pages.

Uncanny X-men 1

This is the relaunch of the uncanny x-men series. The introduction of main villain Mr Sinister should be interesting enough to any fans out there. The return of Mr Sinister is very much anticipated with his new look victorian style fashion. The new X-men is now headed by Cyclops and mostly his role is explained as he makes strategy and plans for the x-men. There are scenes of X-men in roundtable meeting and some boring conversation only for the action to pick towards the end.

Mr Sinister having already gained control of a sentinel in San Francisco attacks the x-men using the sentinel. Before that Mr Sinister takes a ride in the head of the sentinel flying around in it and shooting at the x-men. The x-men deploy namor to crush the sentinel head controlled by Sinister. Sinister unleashes more attacks through the sentinel and the X-men are overwhelmed and need to regroup. Magneto finally used his magnetic powers to control the sentinel attacks while Sinister quietly slips away and what he does is turn the palace of fine arts and its surroundings into everything Sinister. You got to see the final page to get a better description on this.

Action Comics 1

There is a lot of action sequence for this relaunch title. Superman does everything that a superhero does. First he exposed the corruption of a tychoon by throwing him out a building but not to his death. Seems like Superman is still not known to the people of Metropolis as the police viewed him as a rogue criminal. Superman shrugs off the authorities and on his way also saved a few people trapped in an abandoned building about to be torn down. All weapons deployed to stop him failed to do so.


Later when Superman reverts to Clark Kent, he still works as a reporter trying to find the latest scoop. The lead he gets eventually leads to a plot to bomb an underground train. The final parts involves Superman trying to stop the train in vain as he was pinned down by the force of the train. As usual there in an unseen hand behind all this and it's no other than Lex Luthor. An fully action packed issue with not much dialogue, at 42 pages getting through it is not a problem.

Daredevil 5

There are more explaination about why Daredevil's new client Austin is being targeted by big massive criminal organization. But first Daredevil saves Austin from a bunch of hitmen trying to knock him off. Daredevil without much of a sweat disabled the hitmen. Daredevil hides Austin for the moment at his apartment where its safe and proceed to do some investigating. But not before the Latverians contacted a back up plan of some one called Bruiser.


Daredevil tracks down Austin's boss at a boat and he revealed that all the criminal gangs from Hydra to AIM is doing money laundering through Latveria. Before long Daredevil got an uninvited guess and Bruiser drops in on the boat in a loud and thunderous manner. Daredevil unable to fend off the intruder and was kicked out of the boat literally into the sea. Looks like Daredevil is in for a long swim if he is to make it.

Wolverine and the x-men 1

Wolverine start another chapter in his colorful life by being the new headmaster of the mutant school. The school is name after Jean Grey with Kitty Pryde as the headmistress. The whole concept of the school is over the edge with the Beast handling all the futuristic design and buildings. The main story centers on the visit by two inspector of the education department to the school to check on things and for approval.

Things are not going well as the two inspector witnessed a lot of unusual situation and Wolverine and Kitty try their best to appease them. There is also a new rule at the school where aliens can also be admitted. The story drags along for quite a while till almost the last pages till Kade Kilgore, the mastermind behind the hellfire club that orchestrated the sentinel to attack Utopia shows up at the school and babbled about all the bad deeds that he had done to Wolverine apparently to provoke him. Wolverine wouldn't have any of it and leaves but not before Kade swears on destroying the school. Sure enough he is true to his word when the ground beneath the school starts to rumble and from there emerge at giant like rock creature. Surely the school wouldn't survive the destruction.

The Dark Knight 2

Batman gets pulverized by a very big and mean two face in the opening sequence. Batman is getting his face pounded till all of a sudden two face bleeds through his eyes and slump unconscious. Lucky break for batman. Later its revealed that someone has been doing illegal experiment in arkham asylum causing all the inmates to become extra big and powerful plus more crazier than ever. Meanwhile villains everywhere in gotham turned to be extra huge, mean and crazier. Robin and Nightwing has big problem dealing with the mad ventriloquist and so does Batgirl and Batwoman having mad villains to deal with.

Batman is hot on the case which leads him back to the hospital where two face is having treatment. Batman begins asking about the girl in the rabbit suit but two face just rebuff him and that pisses Batman off. Batman then got news that the probable culprit could be the joker and tracks him down to a train. A scuffle with some joker's henchmen ensues and no problem for our hero, But the girl in the rabbit suit appears again and batman gets after her only to find a big muscle bound joker and the girl together. Looks like batman will have a big mean joker to deal with in the next issue.

Green Lantern 2

This issue portray the how badass Sinestro is. Sinestro confronts Hal Jordan who no longer has the green lantern ring. A fight ensues but a ringless Hal is no match for Sinestro as he teaches Hal some lesson. Sinestro makes a deal and gave Hal a ring forged by Sinestro that he can turn on and off whenever he wants. So Hal is under the thumb of Sinestro.





A bridge collapsing has caught the attention of Hal and he raced to the rescue. Things was going smoothly but Sinestro turned off Hal's ring and gave him another lesson about being a superhero. There is a scene where the people saved try to give thanks profusely to Sinestro but he just shrugs it off like nothing which is funny. But things are not as simple as the thing that caused the bridge to collapse as it did is caused by one of the Sinestro Corps, Gorgor. Sinestro and Hal battle the beast and Sinestro has the final say striking the alien beast through its body with a giant sword. Another badass moment from Sinestro. Next Sinestro explains that he needed Hal's help to liberate Korrugar the home planet of Sinestro that is ensalved by the Sinestro Corps. Next destination is Korrugar as both Hal and Sinestro teams up which is a rare occurence. This issue is fast reading and straight to the point and leaves the reader wanting more of Sinestro's badass moment.

Batman 2

Batman continues to dig into the dead body with multiple stab wounds. The issue mostly delves on the investigation and how nightwing's dna ends up at the dead body's fingertips. It was accidental mostly and nightwing is not the one who killed the dead man. But certainly the main part of the issue is the introduction of a new villains dressed in all black ninja attire claiming to be from the court of Owls. The weapon of choice also resembles the talons of owls and loads of daggers, very similar to ninja style.


The villain interrupts the conversation between Bruce Wayne and another philanthropist named Lincoln. The villain proceed to kill a guard and Lincoln in order to finish of Bruce. Then the fight between the two ensues as the villains prove a very tough nut to crack. All the Bruce's moves are countered by the villain. As the fight drags on Bruce was thrown off the building and a freefall fight continues. But quick thinking by Bruce enable him to escape death plunge while the villain lands on top of the car. Bruce taught the case was all finally over but it has only begun as the villain can't seem to die arising from death in the ambulance and escaped. Another new villain emerges that had an issue with Bruce. Another Red Hood kind off storyline or something more unexpected.
